We're in the process of preparing a Zoning Application for the project. We expect to submit it to the County in February 2012. We should have hearings in front of the Planning and Zoning board in April and with the Hernando Board of County Commissioners in May and will update you when these dates are set.
Quarry Preserve continues to work with the Hernando Utilities Department to reach an agreement regarding where and when to move forward permitting the planned onsite wellfield(s).

Florida Rock Industries has been in the heart of Florida’s Nature Coast for the past 50 years. Our proposed Quarry Preserve project will add aesthetic, environmental, and economic value to north Hernando County’s rural setting without upsetting the calm, serene feeling of the area.
Our community will be located just north of the City of Brooksville, and will balance protecting Hernando County’s natural resources with creating a unique resort-styled community filled with friends, activities and jobs. Most important, we have respected our neighbors and taken their lives and concerns into consideration.
We’ve spent time with our neighbors, shared our plans and developed a deep appreciation for Hernando’s people, environment and beauty. Really, we’ve been part of the community for years; we’re just changing what we were (a mining operation) to what we can become—a center for living, working and playing.
We’ve developed this Web site so that you can learn about our plans, our commitment to the community, and how we’re working to protect the area’s natural resources while adding value to Hernando County. We also want to make it easy for you to tell us what you think, how you feel and what you would like to see.
